Teens in Action (TIA) is Camp Fire USA’s exciting youth empowerment/service learning program for teens. Teens in Action empowers teens with the skills and opportunities to directly impact the issues and concerns of their own lives and of the world in which they live.
In the Teens in Action program, teens partner with adult mentors to learn about leadership development, citizenship training, service, and active involvement in governance of an organization. The teens identify a concern of teens in their area, develop strategies to address the concern, and then plan and implement a series of service projects to carry out those strategies. Through the program, Teens in Action have a major impact on their community, as well as learn valuable skills.
Teens participate in a 3-5 day mystery road trip in the New England area in collaboration with Hostelling International USA and local community service agencies that allow our teens to provide community service, practice and deepen leadership and teambuilding skills. The experiential learning opportunity for youth has been a powerful and meaningful program for our teens.
