Our camp staff comes to work each day to make camp greater than the day before. They get campers outdoors and guide them through a healthy summer of fun and much more-new experiences, new skills and new self-confidence, all in a carefully created safe place-and all this helps parents gain peace of mind.

Anita Haller, will lead Camp Ponkiwanee during the 2012 camp season along with Rebecca Skerry, Camp Site Director. Anita has over twenty years of camp leadership experiences and she is delighted to be the camp director this summer. "Camp is so very special for all involved, it is honor to spend the summer positively impacting the lives of our campers."

Rebecca, is in her second season with Ponkiwanee and is a school teacher who is looking forward to a wonderful summer at camp.

Anita, Rebecca and her staff undergo a rigorous background check (including a CORI and SORI check), along with a 40 hour staff training each year. Staff are selected based on their skills working with children, science knowledge, personality, experience and dedication to safety and learning while at Camp Ponkiwanee. Our small camp operates a high staff ratio, each small group of campers (7-11 youth)  is led by a senior counselor (typically older college students) and as is assisted by a junior counselor (16-18 years of age.) Our staff are paired with campers based on their abilities to work with a specific age group and are assigned that group for the summer. Our counselors are supported by our camp site director and director.
